Dr. Nishanthi Kangesu

Nishanthi qualified as a dentist from Guy’s and St. Thomas’s hospital in 1992 and gained experience in general dental practice and various hospital specialties such as Oral Surgery, Oral Medicine and Children’s Dentistry before undertaking a further 3 years training in 1998 at King’s College Hospital to specialise in Orthodontics, which she completed in 2001 and entered the GDC Specialist list.
Since 2001 Nishanthi has worked in Specialist Orthodontic practices and has a wide range of experience with different orthodontic systems including self-ligating brackets such as Damon and Innovation as well as the traditional fixed braces. She also uses cosmetic braces such as Incognito (lingual braces on the inside of the teeth) and clear aligners including Invisalign. She likes to use removable and functional appliances in the early treatment of children.
Nishanthi has a particular interest in the orthodontic management of missing or compromised teeth in both children and adults. With her multidisciplinary background, she finds a team approach involving other dentists and specialists facilitates the creation of a healthy, functional as well as beautiful smile. When she is not working Nishanthi enjoys time with her family, travelling, cooking and painting.
